Robin Ayre, Digital Coach for Games & Animation at Bletchley, discusses the benefits of our course and debunks the biggest myth around careers in this fascinating industry.

Games and Animation has become an essential part of the entertainment industry. There are an abundance of opportunities and transferable skills that can be gained from studying Games Design. Here at the SCIoT, our Games and Animation course has been specifically designed to support learners and help them gain the skills they need for a career within media and design.

The HNC will introduce learners to the fundamentals of game theory, design, and creation. The modules support the learner’s development in skills such as 3D modelling, design and animation. They will then utilise those skills in a collaborative project and develop a game prototype.

For the HND, learners will be supported with choosing their specialism. The units studied focus heavily on advanced practices and industry-workflows, which prepare the learner for their chosen career. By the end of the course learners will have developed their portfolios and gained experience working in collaborative environments to successfully produce games or similar media projects.

The opportunities and careers available after studying Games & Animation are varied and rich:

  • 3D Generalist
  • Character Artist
